Chillin Island is a NYC-based radio/video program conceived by Ashok Kondabolu (aka Dap) and run with the rappers Despot and Lakutis (Alec Reinstein and Aleksey Weintraub, respectively.)


Part of the Know-Wave radio network, Chillin Island is a weekly, two-hour show comprising rap music, interviews, listener calls, rotating segments, and other assorted derelectish behaviors.

Footage of the show, pop culture, parties, childhood ephemera, the streets of New York City, and more are regularly made into distinct, highly concentrated  video nuggets in our patented style.

Chillin Island has participated in or organized  art shows and events at the Whitney (smokeforblues 2013), Queens Museum (Queens International 2016), The Guggenheim (stillspotting 2012), Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), the Greene Space/WNYC, Ravensbourne College (UK), and more.
